Hello! My name is

Thomas Padgett,

and I am an Enrolled Tax Agent (EA) and a Registered Tax Return Preparer (RTRP).

I am also a member of Tax Rep Network (TRN), an extensive, membership-based organization for CPAs, Enrolled Agents, attorneys, and tax professionals. TRN provides significant resources for all aspects of tax issues and cutting-edge research that is considered the industry standard for accurate, up-to-date developments in the tax world.
What this means is that I can assist you in all areas of tax issues.

Specifically, I can

• Prepare your current tax return.
• Get you caught up if you have not filed any past year's tax returns.
• Answer any correspondence you receive from any federal, state, or local tax agency
• Represent you in any audit
• Set up an Installment Agreement (IA) or an Offer-in-Compromise (OIC) if you are unable to pay your tax balance due in full
• Slow down or stop any immediate collection action from the IRS such as liens and levies
• Help you understand in plain English the process of tax collection, your rights as a taxpayer, and the actions you can take to minimize the amount you owe and get your financial life back.
• Help you collect records and receipts and get your books caught up so you can file accurate tax returns.
• Negotiate penalties, interest, and taxes due to lower any amount owed.
• Explain the steps you need to take to get into tax compliance and stay that way.

I know from personal experience, remember this: the IRS does not want to take your house…your car…your business…freeze your back account…or garnish your wages. Please click the “about me” section to learn my background and why I can help you.

But they will if they have to

Those draconian seizure actions are a last resort that the IRS will turn to if they have no other options. Why are these actions a last resort of the IRS?

Because taking your assets and selling them in an auction is a complicated administrative process that IRS agents would prefer to avoid.

So what does the IRS want? To get the delinquent taxpayer into something called tax compliance. Tax compliance means that you have filed all of your tax returns for at least the past six years and paid the balance due, if any, or set up a payment plan to address the issue.

Until this happens, your tax problem will not go away. There are several ways out of a tax quagmire. But there are a series of steps you must take to make that happen.
